Thursday, December 15th, 2005

The Canon A610 is one of the best digital cameras you’ll find for under $300. It may not have the stylish good looks or small size of some of its competitors, but if you’re mostly interested in an affordable digital camera that takes great pictures, the A610 may be the way to go.

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

The Pentax *ist DL is about the best digital SLR you’re going to find for under $800. Pentax is bringing the digital SLR into a realm where average humans can afford to own one without taking out a second mortgage.

Review: Canon Powershot A510

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

The Canon Powershot A510 is a 3.2 megapixel camera, replacing the successful PowerShot A75. It’s not tiny, at 3.6 x 2.5 x 1.5 inches, but it’s a bargain indeed, at under $200.

Friday, December 9th, 2005

The Olympus IR-500 is part of Olympus’s new “total imaging system” line of products. Go all out, and pick up the compatible printer, hard disk drive, and DVD burner. Samsung Pro815 Digital Camera

Thursday, December 8th, 2005

The Samsung Digimax Pro815 is a new “SLR-like” 8 megapixel digital camera with a 15X optical zoom lens. The focal length ranges from 28-420mm, meaning you can zoom out enough for a fairly wide angle shot as well. It also features a massive 3.5″ TFT LCD display, one of the largest available on this sort of camera.

Thursday, December 1st, 2005

The Cybershot DSC-N1 is a new 8MP compact digital camera from Sony. Probably the coolest feature is the 3.0 inch touch-screen LCD. The screen pretty much fills up the whole back of the camera.

Canon Powershot S80

Thursday, December 1st, 2005

The Canon Powershot S80 is Canon’s new flagship 8 Megapixel S-Series camera. It comes with a nice 3.6x optical zoom lens, and uses the same DIGIC II processor found in Canon’s professional Digital SLR cameras. It’s a surprisingly powerful camera for its size, and if you want a great camera without the bulk (or the price) of an SLR, this might be a good option for you.

Canon Powershot S2 IS

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

The Canon Powershot S2 IS is a very slick looking 5MP digital camera. Of course the most obvious feature is the 12x optical zoom lens with image stabilization. If you’ve ever tried shooting with a camera with a good optical zoom lens, you’ll never want to go back. The quality of shots you’ll get is just leagues above anything you’d get with a smaller point and shoot using digital zoom.

Canon Powershot SD550

Sunday, November 20th, 2005

The Canon Powershot SD550 is a 7.1 megapixel camera from Canon’s Digital Elph line. It features a 3x optical zoom lens, as well as 4x digital zoom on top of that. The 2.5″ LCD screen is nice for a camera as compact as this one.
