Update: Invisible Shield for iPhone

Friday, July 20th, 2007

The folks over at ShieldZone were nice enough to send me an Invisible Shield to test out for my shiny new iPhone. As with the Shield I installed previously on my Treo 650, installation was a piece of cake, and you can barely tell it’s there. Much nicer than a bulky cover, and […]

Motorola SLVR

Monday, December 19th, 2005

The new Motorola SLVR L7 should be on shelves this month. Measuring only 113 x 49 x 11.5 mm (I think that translates to 4.4 x 1.9 x 0.5 inches), it’s just a bit longer than a folded RAZR. It’s also narrower and thinner than the RAZR, making it one of the smallest […]

Review: Haier P7

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

The Haier P7 is a fairly ordinary new phone with a very interesting form factor. If you’re into owning a phone that doesn’t look like everyone else’s, this is a cool one. Just bigger than you average pen, it will easily fit into your pocket protector.

Review: Palm Treo 650

Friday, December 9th, 2005

The Treo 650 is just about the perfect mix of a PDA and a cell phone. The biggest obvious external difference between it and the Treo 600 is the screen. It’s far better than the previous iteration, doubling the resolution at 320×320.

Sprint and Samsung introduce RAZR competitor

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

Samsung and Sprint have just introduced the MM-A900, a new handset designed to go head to head with the ultra-popular RAZR from Motorola (it’s codename is “Blade”). This device is much cooler looking than just about anything I’ve seen from Samsung. Perhaps that’s because the took a RAZR, tweaked it a little bit, and called it good.

Can Samsung Compete with the RAZR?

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

Motorola’s RAZR phone has been wildly successful. Some say that without it, Motorola would have gone quietly into the halls of the has-been. According to The NPD Group, Motorola sold 30% of the 31.6 million handsets sold in Q3 of 2005. They turned a profit of $1.75 billion dollars that quarter, on revenue of $9.42 billion.

Review: RIM BlackBerry 7130e

Monday, November 28th, 2005

Last week, RIM and Verizon Wireless released the BlackBerry 7130e smartphone. This is their first device to take advantage of Verizon’s new EV-DO high speed wireless network. Verizon claims EV-DO will deliver download speeds between 400 and 700kbps.

No More NGage Devices until 2007

Monday, November 28th, 2005

Nokia has confirmed that they will be halting production of their N-Gage gaming phone until at least the beginning of 2007. Sales of the device have been quite disappointing. Nokia predicted it would sell 6 million N-Gages over the last three years. Alas, it only managed to move about a third of that.
